Yungchen Lhamo in Madrid, Spain

WOMADelaide, Australia
Yungchen Lhamo, founder of the One Drop of Kindness foundation, will perform and give workshops at WOMADelaide on Saturday March 11th, Sunday March 12th, and Monday March 13th. Held on the traditional lands of the Kaurna People, WOMADelaide – World Of Music Arts & Dance - is an iconic open-air festival celebrating cultural discovery in the heart of Adelaide’s stunning Botanic Park / Tainmuntilla. The Worlds Festival, since 1992, is a truly unique part of the Australian festival landscape, showcasing the best, the essential – and the surprising – in music, arts, dance and ideas from around the world.
WOMADelaide offers a rich variety of programming initiatives, including the popular discussion forum of thinkers, scientists, activists, writers, environmentalists, journalists, economists, and communicators The Planet Talks.
For the foodie Taste the World is a wonderful way to get to know many of the festival’s artists in a relaxed setting, as they share their stories while cooking favourite dishes from home.
The fun and family-friendly KidZone is a dedicated space for children, with nature-play activities, stories, singing, dancing and educational entertainment. Or add to the richness of your WOMADelaide experience by taking part in one of the artist-led workshops.
With the music, art and dance that enriches our cultural landscape comes a deeper understanding and inclusive sense of community between cultures. As thousands of music lovers come together in Botanic Park / Tainmuntilla, dance together, relax in the shade of fig trees, talk, share and discover new music, art and dance, community is built, and tolerance fostered.

Yungchen Lhamo at Freight & Savage in Berkeley, CA
Featuring performances from Yungchen Lhamo’s long-awaited sixth album, Awakening.
With this album, Yungchen, who now lives in Upstate New York, explores the relevance of compassion-based spirituality to our modern-day, interdependent lives – each song reflecting topics that have become ever-more highlighted by the Covid-19 pandemic. She says: “‘Awakening’ aims to appeal to those of any religion, or of none, who are interested in sound healing and spiritual awakening. It is also my first album to include a song in Mandarin. I truly believe that voice has a vibrational energy to connect, empower, heal and transform all human beings. I hope these new songs will help bring inner peace and true happiness to everyone who hears them. ‘Awakening’ has a strong Spanish influence and is therefore quite different in character from my previous albums.”
